Summary of Benefits

To insure purchases* made with an HSBC Premier Credit Card against theft or accidental damage occurring within ninety (90) days from the date of purchase as indicated on the store receipt, up to the per occurrence Limit of USD 3,000, and subject to the annual aggregate limit per Cardholder of USD 20,000.

Extended Warranty

Upon the expiration of the Manufacturer?s Warranty, the Extended Warranty Benefit duplicates the terms of the original Manufacturer?s Warranty up to one (1) full year, and for a maximum of three (3) combined years, for purchases* that cease to operate satisfactorily and require repairs during the policy period.

Benefits are provided to pay for the repair or replacement of a purchase*, up to the amount charged for the item or per occurrence limit of USD 500, whichever is less, subject to the annual aggregate limit of USD 2,000.

In the Event of a Claim

Written notice of service request / claim must be given no later than thirty (30) days from the date of the incident. Failure to give notice within (30) days from the date of the incident may result in a denial of the claim. Notice should be sent to:

Proof of Loss:

The Cardholder must provide:

A signed claim form, if provided

Copy of purchase receipt showing payment of the purchase* was made entirely with the Eligible Card

For theft claims, official copies of the police report filed within ninety (90) days of incident

Cardholder's statement of account showing the account is open and in good standing at the time of filing the claim

Cardholders may be required to send in the damaged item(s), at their expense, for further evaluation of the claim.

Extended Warranty

The Cardholder must provide:

A signed service request form, if provided

Copy of purchase receipt showing payment of the purchase* was made entirely with the Eligible Card

Legible copies of all warranty information including, but not limited to: the manufacturer's original warranty; the store warranty; or any other applicable extended warranty

Cardholder's statement of account showing the account is open and in good standing at the time of filing the service request

Cardholders may be required to send in the damaged item(s), at their expense, for further evaluation of the claim

Conditions:

It is the American Home Assurance Company?s (U.A.E. Branch) discretion to decide whether to have the item repaired or replaced, or to reimburse the original purchase price less any rebates, discounts or rewards points

Purchases* that are a pair or a set will be limited to the cost of repair or replacement of the specific item if repairable or replaceable; otherwise, the value of the pair or set will be covered, not to exceed the Per Occurrence Limit

For Theft claims, you must provide an official police report regarding the incident within the required timeframe

Extended Warranty

Purchases* must have a minimum Manufacturer?s Warranty of twelve (12) months; and cannot have greater than a maximum combined Manufacturer?s Warranty and additional optional warranty period of three (3) years

There must be a manufacturer authorized repair network and parts available within the Country of Use

Purchases* must have a valid Manufacturer?s Warranty in the Country of Use stating the extent of cover, the period of cover, what the manufacturer will do to correct the problem and whom to contact for service

The Manufacturer?s Warranty contains what the Warranty does and does not cover

Purchases* may be repaired or replaced, or the Cardholder may receive reimbursement of the original purchase price less any rebates, discounts or rewards points

Excluded Items:

This protection does not provide coverage for any of the following:

Any motor vehicle airplanes, boats, automobiles and motorcycles and any equipment, parts or accessories

Permanent fixtures, including but not limited to carpeting, flooring, tile, air conditioners, refrigerators, or heaters

Travellers check(s), cash, tickets of any kind, negotiable instruments, bullion, rare or precious coins or stamps

Art, antiques, collectable items, furs, jewellery, gems and precious stones

Consumables or perishables

Plants or animals

Used, rebuilt, refurbished, or remanufactured items at the time of purchase

Items rented or leased

Items purchased for resale, professional, or commercial use

Services, shipping, handling, installation or assembly costs

Items damaged through alteration (including cutting, sawing, and shaping)

Items left unattended in a place to which the general public has access

Losses caused by abuse, wilful damage, vermin and insect infestation, wear and tear, inherent product defect, mechanical or electrical failure, nuclear, biological or chemical event, terrorism or war

Extended Warranty:

This Extended Warranty Coverage will not apply to:

Boats

Motorized vehicles including airplanes, automobiles and motorcycles, and any equipment, parts or accessories

Land or buildings

Consumables and perishables

Any customized, unique, or rare items

Used, rebuilt, refurbished and re-manufactured items at the time of purchase

Items purchased for resale, professional, or commercial use

Items which carry a "satisfaction guaranteed" promise that provides product replacement or benefits for anything other than defects in materials and workmanship of the item

Items which carry a Manufacturer?s Warranty of longer than three years

Services, maintenance, repair, installation or assembly costs

Any shipping or promised time frames of delivery, whether or not stated or covered by the Manufacturer's Warranty; and

Any costs relating to damage to a purchase* caused by accident, neglect, abuse, wilful damage, vermin and insect infestation, misuse, theft, sand, fire, earthquake, storm and tempest, lightning, explosion, aircraft impact, water damage, corrosion, battery leakage or Acts of God

Travel Insurance

To protect against Personal Accident in the event of Accidental Death or Permanent total disablement

To insure Cardholder in the event of Flight delay in excess of 10 hours

Death repatriation

Covers the insurance requirements for obtaining a Schengen Visa

The cover period is from the time of departure as shown on the ticket till the date of return or 30 days from date of departure whichever is earlier. Tickets must be purchased using your HSBC Premier Credit Card.

Limit of Indemnity

The Limit applicable for Accidental death is USD 125,000 for individuals aged between 18 and 65 years and USD 25,000 for children aged between 6 months and 17 years

The Limit applicable for Permanent total disablement is USD 125,000 for individuals aged between 18 and 65 years and USD 25,000 for children aged between 6 months and 17 years

The Limit applicable for Death or permanent total disablement caused by accident in a common carrier or private car is USD 250,000 for individuals aged between 18 and 65 years and USD 50,000 for children aged between 6 months and 17 years

The Limit applicable for Death or permanent total disablement caused by accident in a common air carrier is USD 375,000 for individuals aged between 18 and 65 years and USD 75,000 for children aged between 6 months and 17 years

The Limit applicable for Loss of two eyes, two limbs or one eye and one limb is USD 125,000 for individuals aged between 18 and 65 years and USD 25,000 for children aged between 6 months and 17 years

The Limit applicable for Loss of one eye or one limb is USD 62,500 for individuals aged between 18 and 65 years and USD 12,500 for children aged between 6 months and 17 years

Emergency Medical Expenses (Accident and Sickness) is up to USD 125,000 per person per trip. A fee of USD 25 will be deducted on every claim

Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation is up to USD 250,000 per person per trip

Death repatriation up to USD 12,500

Hospital cash benefits USD 1,200 (USD 100 per day; maximum for 12 days)

Compassionate visit USD 7,500

Flight delays in excess of 10 hours up to USD 150 per person per trip and USD for Family per Trip

Baggage loss of up to USD 500 per person and USD 1,000 for Family. Baggage loss of up to USD 50 per item and up to USD 250 per bag

Baggage delay of up to USD 150 per person and USD 300 for Family in excess of 10 hours

Eligible Persons

HSBC Premier Primary and Supplementary Cardholders aged between 18 and 65 years and their immediate family members (spouse and children under the age of 18)

In the event of a Claim

Just call on +971 4 2143343. Written proof of claim must be given for processing within 30 days from date of incident or upon such proof including the following supporting bills and documents:

Medical Accident/Sickness - Completed claim form, Medical report, Police report if applicable, Medical Bills, Medicine Prescription (if medicine was bought), copy of passport and statement of account verifying the air ticket was purchased using a valid Credit Card.

Medical Evacuation - Medical attendants and Hospital Reports.

Flight delay - Completed claim form, Air Ticket purchase invoice, statement of account verifying the air ticket was purchased using a valid Credit Card, confirmation letter from the airline stating the period of delay and the reason, Boarding Pass, Airline Ticket, copy of the Cardholder?s passport and original invoice for the essential items purchased.

Lost Baggage - Copy of sales slip verifying the relevant flight ticket charged to your HSBC Premier Credit Card, the airlines authorities property irregularity report and total value of item(s) claimed for, with descriptions and whether lost or damaged.

Delayed Baggage - Copy of sales slip verifying the relevant flight ticket charged to your HSBC Premier Credit Card, the airlines authority property irregularity report, all original invoices, bills including airline tickets purchased with your HSBC Premier Credit Card.

Repatriation Expenses - Death certificate, Medical attendants report, all supporting bills and other documents provided.

This insurance is underwritten by American Home Assurance Company. The insured person will not hold HSBC responsible whether for compensation, processing of claims or otherwise.
