You are fully protected against third-party fraud when banking with Personal Internet Banking. You will not suffer any loss if money is taken from your account without your permission, provided you have not acted fraudulently or negligently. However, you have an important role to play as well –it is important that you keep your Personal Internet Banking password confidential. Never write it down or disclose it to anyone. Remember, HSBC will never ask you for your Personal Internet Banking password.

Your Internet Banking ID and password protect your financial information and uniquely identify you and help safeguard your bank details being accessed by anybody but you. In addition, information is protected using firewalls and a powerful Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption. An automatic “time-out” feature is activated if there is no activity after a short time, to prevent unauthorized access if a banking session is left idle.

You should take all necessary precautions to protect yourself against unauthorized access to your computer including installations and maintenance of virus detection software and a personal firewall.

We maintain strict security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to information about you. HSBC will never contact you by Email or otherwise to ask you to validate your personal information, such as your Internet Banking ID, Password or Account Number.

Never follow a link within an email to start an Internet Banking session. Always ensure to key in www.hsbc.ae into the address bar of your browser and click “Logon” to start an Internet Banking session.
