Our commitment to grassroots rugby is at the heart of our support for rugby around the world. We are determined to make our investment in rugby count by doing what we can to support the growth of the game.
In the Middle East HSBC has built up a programme of grassroots rugby activities across the region. The season-long programme includes the sponsorship of four junior rugby festivals in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain and Qatar, which come together to form the HSBC Youth Rugby Series.
We are also delighted to have added to our grassroots rugby programme our sponsorship of the UAE Rugby Federation's Player Pathway Programme – a new initiative aimed at introducing Emirati students to rugby at school.

To support the growth and development of UAE rugby, HSBC is the Presenting Partner of the UAE Rugby Player Pathway Programme, a UAE Rugby Federation initiative to take rugby into local schools and introduce thousands of Emirati students to the game of rugby and promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
The programme sends Rugby Development Officers into local schools to offer professional rugby coaching for Emirati students and HSBC adds value by providing free rugby equipment and has produced the first-ever Arabic language coaching manual for all participating students to encourage learning and development. Students take their skills onto the field to compete in the HSBC Emirati Schools Tournament, the only opportunity for competitive rugby for Emirati students.
