You can get AXA Car Insurance if:

  • You are a UAE resident
  • You are an existing customer of HSBC
  • You have a valid UAE driving license
  • Your vehicle is UAE registered
  • You have not been disqualified from driving, have no criminal convictions and have not been refused insurance or had any special terms imposed in the past 5 years

Loss of or Damage to your vehicle
Cover for the accidental loss of or damage to the insured vehicle due to an insured incident.

Third Party Bodily Injury
Cover for your legal liability in the event that you have to pay compensation for any bodily injury to or death of a third party, following an accident.

Third Party Property Damage
Cover for your legal liability in the event that you have to pay compensation for damage to materials and property, following an accident.

Medical Expenses
Cover for a limited amount of medical treatment incurred as a direct result of an accident when using the insured vehicle.

Personal Belongings
Cover for the value of loss or damage caused to your personal belongings whilst in the insured vehicle.

Natural and Social Perils
Your policy cover extends to include accidental loss of or damage to the vehicle caused by natural or social perils such as storm, flood, riot and strike.

Oman Extension
Cover whilst car is temporarily being driven in the Sultanate of Oman.

Agency repair
Repair of accidental damage of the insured vehicle at the manufacturer's authorised dealers within the UAE.

Hire car and AXA Valet
Hire car facility at the time of a covered accident is supported by AXA’s valet service which will deliver the hire car to your home or office and also collect the hire car once your car’s repairs are complete.

Roadside Assistance
Extensive breakdown and accident recovery is offered 365 days a year to your vehicle and any private vehicle in which you are travelling. AXA also commit to reaching the breakdown site within an hour of request otherwise AXA will pay you AED 150 (within the urban areas of Dubai & Abu Dhabi).

Personal Accident benefits for driver
Compensation to the driver of the vehicle in the event of death or serious bodily injury sustained whilst using the vehicle.

Personal Accident benefits for passengers
Compensation to the passengers in the vehicle in the event of death or serious bodily injury sustained whilst using the vehicle.

GCC cover
Under this cover, the loss of or damage to your vehicle is extended to all GCC countries. This does not include third party liability cover, which must be purchased separately at the border.

FAQs

Why can't the insurance and registration be in two different names?

The Policy Holder should normally be both the main driver of the vehicle and the registered owner. The Policy Holder must have a financial interest in the vehicle. The traffic department will only register a vehicle in the name stated on the insurance certificate.

 

How do you calculate my insurance premium?

A number of factors are used to calculate your insurance premium. Amongst these the key factors are the age of the driver, length of driving experience, claims history, model of vehicle, vehicle value.

 

Why can't the insurance be transferred when the vehicle is sold?

As the insurance premium is affected by the profile of the driver, it is not possible to simply transfer insurance cover from one driver to another. The new owner will need to purchase a new policy required for registration purposes. Once the vehicle is transferred you can cancel the policy and subject to no claims we will provide you refund on short period scale.

 

Which garages will you use to repair my car?

If you have selected Agency Repairs then your vehicle will be repaired at the vehicle's authorized dealership. Otherwise it will go to one of AXA’s preferred garages. The warranty given in our preferred Garages is the same as an Agency - 12 months on body/paint work and 6 months on mechanical repairs. AXA Preferred Garages normally repair your vehicle more quickly than an Agency - for minor damages the repair normally starts the same day your vehicle arrives at the garage. For major damages, the repair normally starts in 2 days.

 

Can I choose which garage I want to take my vehicle to?

AXA will choose the garage. The garage AXA chooses will depend on the vehicle type, nature of damage and availability.
