We are delighted that you have chosen HSBC as your banking partner. HSBC Advance is packed with features and privileges including an Air Miles rewards programme, and offers on entertainment, dining, cinema and travel.

Changes to Benefits and Features

Enhancement - Global View Global Transfers
As an HSBC Advance account holder, you currently enjoy Global View and Global Transfers where you can transfer funds for supported currencies instantly1 within your HSBC accounts globally through Internet banking. We are pleased to inform you that effective 18 April 2016; HSBC Advance account holders will enjoy free international Global Transfers. This means that the USD 7 online transfer fee that was previously applicable will no longer apply.

With Global Transfers you can enjoy:

  • Instant transfers between your HSBC accounts anywhere in the world for supported currencies1
  • Competitive rates on foreign currency exchange
  • Fund transfers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Transfer limit of up to USD 100,000 daily

Discontinuation – Travel Insurance

Please also note effective from 30th June 2016, free worldwide multi-trip travel insurance will cease to exist as a feature for all HSBC Advance Account holders. This benefit is currently offered through Zurich Insurance Middle East S.A.L. ("Zurich"). Zurich will continue to honor all claims for travel insurance which have been incurred on or before the 30th June 20162. After this date, this feature will no longer be available.

What will happen if an HSBC Advance Account Holders has a claim or occurrence of an insurance event on or before the 30th of June?

Our partner will continue to honor all claims or occurrence of an insurance event for travel insurance which have been incurred on or before the 30th June 2016 subject to policy conditions

What will happen if an HSBC Advance Account Holders has a claim or occurrence of an insurance event after the 30th of June?

After this date, this feature will no longer be available and any claims by the Advance customers will not be honoured by Zurich. Any occurrence of an insurance event after this date will not be processed by our partner

Do HSBC Advance Account Holders get any other benefit since this feature is being removed?

Yes. As an HSBC Advance customer, you currently enjoy Global View and Global Transfers where you can transfer funds instantly and easily within your HSBC accounts globally through Internet banking. We are pleased to inform you that effective 18 April 2016; HSBC Advance customers will enjoy free international Global Transfers*. HSBC Global View allows a single view of all your HSBC accounts in different countries.

HSBC Global Transfers allow you to transfer money instantly1 between your accounts linked on HSBC Global View.

Who can use HSBC Global View and Global Transfers?

How does an HSBC Advance Account Holder use Global View Global Transfer?

It's easy. All you need to do is:
1. Log on using Secure Key
2. Go to 'Global View'
3. Select 'Global Transfers'

How are transfers made on HSBC Global Transfers?

Is instant money transfer available for all currencies?

Is there a limit on the amount to be transferred?

The maximum daily limit is USD100k.

Why do Global Transfers in some currencies take longer than others?

Some currencies can only be traded on-shore due to local regulatory restrictions, and although these currencies will still be available for you to transfer in, there may be a short delay in processing these transactions.

How frequently are the rates refreshed for Global Transfers?

Live exchange rates are available on Personal Internet Banking and are refreshed every 90 seconds during international weekdays (Monday–Friday). On International weekends (Saturday and Sunday) or when the currency markets are closed, the rate remains unchanged until the next international working day.

What was the fee charged earlier?

Earlier the fee charged was $7 per transaction on Global Transfer
