You can apply for personal accident insurance if you are:
- aged between 18-64
- a UAE resident
- a GCC citizen
- a GCC resident having a valid business, employment or resident visa in UAE
Things you should know
Your Personal Accident policy shall be automatically renewed by GIG each year on the policy anniversary date subject to all premiums being paid by you, unless cancelled by you / GIG. Please note that if GIG decides to change the policy terms or premium, you will be informed 60 days before the date of your next renewal.
Exclusions
Please note that the exclusions given below are just examples of some of the key exclusions that apply. Please refer to the GIG policy wording for exact terms, conditions and exclusions.
Accidents caused by or related to the following are excluded:
• suicide and suicide attempts, and intentional self-injury
• any unlawful or criminal act or your willful exposure to danger (other than in an attempt to save human life)
• insanity, intoxication, alcohol or drugs not prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner
• childbirth, pregnancy, mental and nervous disorders
• physical defect in sight or hearing or any other infirmity rendering you more than usually liable to accidents
