As the primary cardholder, you can manage your cash and purchase limits to protect your family’s finances. But the secondary cardholder can still make essential purchases and withdrawals on their own.

Who can apply?
Existing bank account holder with HSBC UAE can apply for a supplementary debit card for a family member.
Eligibility
Supplementary cardholders must be at least 14 years old and must be members of your immediate family.
Things you should know
The primary cardholder remains responsible for all transactions by supplementary cardholders. For more details on Supplementary Debit card, refer to the Personal Banking General Terms and Conditions (PDF).
Supplementary debit cardholder can’t access the primary cardholder’s balance information, online, mobile or phone banking.
Only the primary customer can set PINs for supplementary cards using phone banking. You’ll need to contact the call centre from your registered number with the bank.
The supplementary debit card may be used for purchases, cash withdrawals, cash deposits or PIN Change via ATM. It can also be added to Apple Pay or Samsung Pay or Google Pay, where the OTP will be sent to the supplementary cardholder.
Approved transaction notifications go to the primary cardholder, but decline notifications go to supplementary cardholder.
We recommend you set lower limits for minor supplementary cardholders, and monitor their use of the card.
How to add a cardholder

We'll get back to you within 24 hours during working hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 16:30. If you place an order outside these times, it will be the next working day.
If you do not meet the repayments/payments on your loan/financing, your account will go into arrears. This may affect your credit rating, which may limit your ability to access financing in the future.
