Between 29 May and 30 June 2025, our partner Emirates Skywards is updating its systems to provide a more rewarding experience. You'll receive any Skywards Miles or Silver Tier upgrades you're due once the update is complete.

New cards approved between 29 May and 30 June 2025 will be linked to your Emirates Skywards account once the system update is complete.

While the update is taking place, you'll still be able to earn Skywards Miles on eligible spends with your digital HSBC Emirates Skywards credit card. They'll be transferred to your account once the update has been completed.

No, you won't lose out on any Skywards Miles or benefits. This includes your sign-up and welcome spend Miles, as well as any tier upgrades you're due. They will be transferred to your account once the system update has been completed.

If you're due a Silver Tier upgrade, it will be processed after the system update and you'll be able to enjoy the benefits of it then (including an additional 12kg checked-in baggage allowance, access to the Emirates Business Class Lounge in Dubai, business class check-in and more).

You can check the Skywards Miles you've had transferred through your monthly HSBC Emirates Skywards credit card statements. Or by logging onto your Emirates Skywards account and viewing your Emirates Skywards statement.

Yes. You can continue using your card as usual. Any Skywards Miles you earn will be transferred to your Emirates Skywards account once the system update is complete.

The system is being updated to improve how your Skywards Miles are managed.

If you were approved for a card but it wasn't linked to the Emirates Skywards system on or before 28 May, your card will be linked and delivered once the system update is complete.

In the meantime, you can use and earn Skywards Miles with your digital HSBC Emirates Skywards credit card. Just log on to the HSBC UAE app, select your credit card account and then 'Manage cards'. Then select 'Add to Apple Wallet or GPay' – and that's it.

Please also note that if your details with Emirates Skywards didn't match the details given in your application, you'll receive a new membership number, and we'll link this to your credit card.
