Activate push notifications in the HSBC UAE app
You can set up push notifications for:
- Account servicing reminders when you need to update documents, such as your Emirates ID, so you won't get your accounts restricted
- Relevant promotions and exclusive offers, so you never miss out
- Approved and declined credit card transactions, to help you stay on top of your spending
If you turn push notifications on, you'll get these notifications for all your accounts / cards, and vice versa. You can turn them off or on again at any time.
If you disable push notifications for a particular category, SMS notifications for that category will automatically be activated.
You can also manage your push notification preferences separately. If you wish to receive push notifications for credit card transactions but not for marketing communications, then tap on the ‘Profile icon’, then Communication preferences, then Push notifications and toggle OFF marketing notifications while keeping credit card transaction notifications ON.
How to turn on push notifications
- Log on to your HSBC UAE app
- Tap the bell icon
- Tap 'Accept to activate push notifications'
Where to see your notifications
Depending on the settings on your phone, notifications may show up:
- On your locked phone screen
- In your notification centre
- As a pop-up message when you use your phone
- On your smart watch and other devices if connected
You can change how you see notifications in your phone settings.

You can review the push notifications you've had in the HSBC UAE app:
- Up to 90 days, tap the bell icon on the homepage
- Over 90 days, select your account or card and check the 'Activity' section
